Distant Drums is one of the first roses to show her buds in spring with deep purple new growth that grows into dark green foliage. DD flowers have a pink bud that opens to the soft est mauve tones and fades toward the center to a creamy brown. Her color is the perfect palette, but what I adore the most about her is the myrrh fragrance. Distant Drums is a shrub rose with continual flushes throughout summer with regular deadheading.
