Hardwood (Rose Gum) Heavy Duty 32mm deep profile Eucalyptus grandis or 'Rose Gum', is a the new, preferred hardwood, to Victorian Ash stretcher bars. Rose Gum Heavy Duty will lead the way as Australia transitions from native logging practices and eases the pressure on old growth forests. Grown in FSC Certified Plantations this timber is resistant to Lyctus borers and possesses a moderate durability and strength. It has straighter grain, less knots, and is considerably lighter in weight and density than Australian Ash, leading to a higher quality hardwood stretcher bar. This fine-grained timber is more resistant to changes in humidity than pine, and less likely to warp.
