Dear fellow botanical painting adventurers, I am often asked how one captures a rose and how one captures light, well in this one study we do both! this is one of my favourite rose s from my garden, the light floods through them in the late afternoon and displays all the colours within; I am putting this study into a large design and over the next few months we will add to it and you can see it grow. Its a great way to learn how to mix browns and its a very simple drawing. My tip this week is to keep turning the drawing to make sure you don't draw a lop-sided onion ????
