Find the proper fit, and only when you're sure you won't need the extra beads, you can slide them off into a container. Tightly tie a knot like normal, maintaining the fluctuation space, and repeat 4-5x each time tying tightly. Cut the string about a half of a centimeter from the knot, avoid cutting ON the knot. For extra security, CAREFULLY singe the exposed ends with a lighter, and seal with a good quality glue, allow to dry completely before touching skin. No further changes should need to be made, and now you can enjoy your new body jewelry!
