Beginner's Guide to Ball Gags Rose-design ball gags are BDSM restraint accessories that prevent clear speech while maintaining an aesthetic appearance. Here is what to know before your first use: Establish a non-verbal safe signal before use — a gag makes the verbal safe word unusable; agree on a physical signal such as tapping three times or dropping a held object before starting The ball size must not cause jaw strain — ball gags come in different diameters; if the jaw feels strained after 2 minutes, the ball is too large — choose a smaller size Never leave a gagged person unsupported — a person wearing a gag cannot call for help verbally; the non-gagged partner must remain present and attentive at all times Drooling is normal and expected — ball gags prevent saliva swallowing; have a towel available and do not allow saliva to pool when the wearer is face-up Maximum wear time is 15–20 minutes initially — jaw fatigue develops quickly with a ball gag; keep sessions short and remove immediately if the wearer signals or shows distress Clean thoroughly after every use — ball gags contact mouth mucosa; wash the ball with warm water and antibacterial toy cleaner after every use For more guidance, see: Beginner's Guide to Adult Products in Canada.
