This delicious Rothaus beer is known as Rothaus Märzen in 500ml (50cl) bottles and Rothaus Eiszäpfle in the smaller 330ml (33cl) bottles. The icicles on the label (“Eis”) aren't just a nod to the winter season. One method of harvesting the ice was to erect a large wooden scaffolding that was sprayed with water. Icicles would form on the beams, which could then be knocked off and used to cool the beer!
