ROTIPHORESE® 10x TAE Buffer light, 10x conc. buffer concentrate, with reduced EDTA concentration, Density (D) 1,018 g/cm³, Boiling point (bp) >100 °C, Storage temp. +15 to +25 °C The TAE buffer is optimally suited as a gel and running buffer system. Mechanism TAE buffer has a lower buffer capacity than TBE and can be used with higher voltages, longer gels and larger DNA fragments. The gels heat up during running to a lesser extent than when using the running buffer TBE. DNA migrates in TAE gel about twice as fast as in TBE buffered gels. ROTIPHORESE®10x TAE-buffer light is particularly ideal for agarose gels in DNA-elution. Although the reduced EDTA-content lowers the contamination of the eluted DNA with EDTA and therefore prevents any interference of enzymatic activity, e.g. from ligases, isomerases or polymerases, the buffer properties still remain totally intact.
