Rouge 2x2 — Red Zellige Mosaic Tile A deep, wine-toned red with brick and berry running through it. This is the color of pomegranate seeds split open, or a glass of old Rioja held up to the light — dense, a little brooding, never bright or primary. Rouge is the boldest color in our palette, closer to aged burgundy than to any flat red, and it's always been one of the most dramatic ways to bring color into a space without reaching for pattern. Up close, each tile shifts from deep crimson to a darker oxblood, keeping a full Rouge wall from ever reading flat. Mounted on mesh sheets for a straightforward, clean installation, Rouge 2×2 reads as a cleaner, more architectural grid than the 1×1 — suited to kitchen backsplashes, powder rooms, hammam-style showers, and fireplace surrounds where the wall itself should hold presence. It pairs beautifully with unlacquered brass, walnut, and Venetian plaster. Each sheet measures 8" x 8", covering approximately 0.44 sq. ft. As with all handmade zellige, no two tiles are ever quite alike — the natural variation in tone and texture is the hallmark of the craft, not a flaw. We recommend ordering ten percent beyond your total square footage to allow for cuts and pattern matching, and sealing prior to grouting for wet installations.
