- 2.65 Inches Tall x 1.73 Inches Wide - Gold Plated Pewter, Austrian Crystals - Enameled - The Egg is Openable - Hand Painted - Padded Satin Lined Gift Box This hand-painted sparkling egg is adorned with high-polished enamel and radiant golden trim. Brilliant crystal accents encircle the surface in a richly jeweled pattern, enhancing its luminous red finish. The egg opens on a hinge and closes securely with a magnetic clasp to keep contents safely inside. The piece comes beautifully presented in a satin lined gift box. Inspired by the celebrated jeweled Easter eggs created between 1885 and 1917 for European imperial families, this elegant design reflects a tradition of extraordinary craftsmanship and artistic innovation. These historic masterpieces were commissioned as annual Easter gifts and became renowned for their intricate gold work, vibrant enamel surfaces, and hidden surprises concealed within the shell. Original examples were crafted by highly skilled workmasters using precious metals, diamonds, pearls, and the distinctive guilloché technique — a process in which translucent enamel is layered over finely engine-turned patterns to create a radiant, light-catching effect. Many featured miniature portraits, mechanical elements, or symbolic motifs representing love, faith, and dynastic heritage. Echoing that rich decorative legacy, this petite keepsake box captures the opulence and refined detailing associated with the golden age of decorative arts. Its jewel-like presence and ornate stand make it both a functional trinket box and a timeless display piece.
