After powder and ball were placed in the barrel, the soldier used his ramrod to firmly seat the charge before the weapon could be made ready to fire again. Combined with soldiers reaching for cartridges, biting them open and firing, this figure allows collectors to recreate an entire musket-loading sequence within the ranks of Santa Anna's army.
