Briarheart is a signet cut from sterling silver, its face given over entirely to a rose bramble in solid gold. Thorned stems wind across the crown and shoulders, thick with blooms, two of them set with a single ruby at the centre.The design draws on the language of heraldry, where a rose was never just a rose. It stood for concealment and confession in the same breath, for a beauty that came with a cost.
