A teardrop cabochon of ruby in zoisite measuring 39.9x25.7mm and weighing 47.8 carats, with saturated purple-pink ruby zones dominating the composition. The polished face shows vivid magenta ruby color filling the central and lower areas of the stone, with the bright green zoisite more prominent toward the edges and tip, and dark hornblende inclusions distributed throughout as characteristic of anyolite. The color contrast is bold and immediate on this piece. Ruby in zoisite is found almost exclusively in the Longido district of Tanzania, where the two minerals co-crystallized under specific metamorphic conditions. At 39.9x25.7mm and nearly 48 carats, this teardrop is a substantial statement piece with strong visual presence. The form suits pendant and brooch centerpiece applications as well as display use. Completely untreated, with the natural three-mineral composition preserved as it came from the deposit.
