The polished face shows viv id magenta ruby color filling the central and lower areas of the stone, with the bright green zoisite more prominent toward the edges and tip, and dark hornblende inclusions distributed throughout as characteristic of anyolite. The color contrast is bold and immediate on this piece. Ruby in zoisite is found almost exclusively in the Longido district of Tanzania, where the two minerals co-crystallized under specific metamorphic conditions.
