If you want to capture the magic of an autumn sunset right in your backyard, Ruby Muhly Grass is your best friend. This ornamental grass is a showstopper for Zone 7 and 8 gardeners, reaching a tidy size of 3 feet tall and wide. In late summer, it erupts into a misty cloud of vibrant, pinkish-red plumes that dance in the slightest breeze. It loves the full sun and, thankfully, is highly resistant to both deer and rabbits, making it a reliable choice for open landscapes. For the best results, I always suggest blending Watters Premium Mulch directly with your garden's native soil at planting time. This improves drainage—which is vital for grasses—while keeping the roots cool. To maintain those brilliant colors, feed your Muhly with 7-4-4 All-Purpose Plant Food. This slow-release nutrition ensures the blades stay strong and the blooms remain prolific year after year. #RubyMuhlyGrass #OrnamentalGrass #DeerResistant #WattersGardenCenter #744PlantFood
