Turn off the protein skimmer and UV sterilizer before starting treatment. Remove carbon filtration and other absorbent media before dosing. Phosphate absorbents may remain in use. Determine total system water volume including the filtration system. Beginning on day 1 add 2 ounces (60 mL) for each 32 gallons (120 L) of total water volume. Repeat the dose on days 4 7 10 and 13 whether or not spots continue to be visible. For heavy infections repeat on days 3 5 7 10 and 13. Persistent infections may require repeating the treatment cycle. Continue treatment for at least 2 weeks from when the last white spot is visible. Protein skimming and water changes may be used as needed to maintain water quality when timed around the dosing schedule. Wait 3 to 4 days after the final dose before resuming normal tank operation. Ruby Reef states the product is biodegradable and should clear from the aquarium in approximately 3 to 5 days after the final dose.
