In 2019, I was commissioned by Chester Zoo to paint an animal collection for their gift shop. Ruby The Red Panda is one of 5 animals I painted for their collection. I took inspiration from the animals at the zoo and the wonderful array of wildflowers growing in the gardens that support the local wildlife. My love of bold colours infuse my artwork with energy and liveliness. The colours reflect my own journey of embracing positivity and finding beauty in the world around me. Themes in my work often vary because my thoughts are always shifting. Some days, I’m drawn to serene landscapes that reflect a calm state of mind, while other times, I explore more abstract compositions that capture moments of intense emotion. Created through the medium of acrylic paint applied to canvas, I use various techniques such as blending, splattering and layering to create highly textured and utterly unique pieces of art. While my paintings are deeply personal, I love that each viewer can interpret them differently.
