Grace MitchellRuinscapeOil on wood board 90 x 120 cm $1400 Grace Mitchell is an artist living and working in Naarm/Melbourne, working in an expanded painting practice. She primarily uses oil paint and also explores the structural qualities of wax. Her current works centre on an archive of photographs her mother took across Europe in the 1990s that depict mould, fog, ruins, and the processes of damage that occur across long periods of time and present themselves on objects in the world. Through material experimentation, Grace employs these processes of damage in her works by engineering the appearance of mould or sun damage onto an artwork. Her work engages with themes of decay, artificial or genuine, as well as the stories that objects hold via their material appearance. Grace has shown her work across Naarm/Melbourne galleries and ARIs and earned her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (painting) at RMIT Melbourne in 2025. Shipping is not included in the online artwork purchase price. Artworks currently on exhibition can be collected from the gallery at 45 Flinders Lane, Melbourne VIC 3000 once the exhibition has concluded.
