At the beginning of her career, she explored the interfaces between figurative and abstract painting. Now she devotes herself exclusively to abstraction, continually developing new techniques with which she tests the fluid transition between conscious, arbitrary control and mere, pure chance. For her unique series Dusk & Dawn, she uses round acrylic discs onto which she first applies acrylic paint and then passes it in circular motions over an Alu Dibond panel. The discs leave traces of paint, but at the same time remain on the painting surface. They lend the works something both object-like and painterly. The original, genuine motifs of the paintings and the methodology of their creation merge with each other. Depending on the angle of view, one or the other comes to the fore. Im Mittelpunkt von Ruscha Voormanns Arbeit stehen transformative Prozesse. Zu Beginn ihrer Tätigkeit lotete sie die Schnittstellen zwischen figurativer und abstrakter Malerei aus. Nun widmet sie sich ausschließlich der Abstraktion, wobei sie laufend neue Techniken entwickelt, mit denen sie den fließenden Übergang zwischen bewusster, willkürlicher Steuerung und bloßem, reinem Zufall erprobt. Für ihre unikatäre Serie „Dusk & Dawn“ nutzt sie runde Acrylglasscheiben, auf die sie zunächst Acrylfarbe aufträgt und die sie dann in kreisenden Bewegungen über eine Aludibondplatte führt. Die Scheiben hinterlassen Farbspuren, verbleiben aber gleichzeitig auf dem Maluntergrund. Sie verleihen den Werken sowohl etwas Objekthaftes als auch Malerisches. Die originäre, genuine Motivik der Bilder und die Methodik ihres Entstehens verschmelzen miteinander. Je nach Blickwinkel tritt das eine oder das andere in den Vordergrund.
