Stauning R.Y.E. | Maple Syrup Cask is a limited edition expression of our award-winning Danish rye whisky , matured in heavily charred virgin American oak and finished in casks that previously held maple syrup from Vermont. The whisky style behind this release first gained recognition when an original single cask was named World’s Best Single Cask in the Single Rye, 12 Years & Under category at the World Whiskies Awards 2023. This release brings that distinctive whisky profile back. Our locally grown Danish rye and barley is 100% floor-malted at the distillery before being double-distilled in 24 small direct-fired copper pot stills. The maple syrup cask finish adds warm spice, vanilla, cinnamon, liquorice and charred oak to the spicy character of our R.Y.E. Expect red berries, green apple, citrus, grain and malt, followed by caramelised apple, ripe plum and toasted oak. Velvety sweetness balances the rye spice, with a long, fruity and gently warming finish. Show more
