Yosuke Oominato Enjoy the beautiful light and shadow of Kumiko work! Kumiko work consists of small pieces of Akita cedar wood that are assembled one by one by hand without using nails to create patterns. In Niigata Prefecture's "Hyakunen Monogatari" project, we were advised by architect and product designer Masayuki Kurokawa to complete an andon(Japanese-style lamp)with an innovative three-dimensional design. The light leaking out from the andon and the shadows of the Kumiko intermingle to create a beautiful and mysterious space. The hemp leaf pattern is associated with family happiness, and is recommended as a gift for a housewarming or a new beginning.
