Sabal 'DeFuniak' is an outstanding, hardy, trunking palm growing roadside in the Florida panhandle town of DeFuniak Springs, where it was spotted originally by Georgia palm guru, T om McLendon, for its unusual character. It's almost certainly a cross of Sabal palmetto x Sabal minor, although Sabal etonia could possibly be the second parent. Regardless, this is the fastest growing, hardy sabal palm we've ever seen, flowering for us, at five years of age.
