This trunk-forming palm, which is rarely seen in gardens, is the Mexican equivalent to our native Sabal palmetto. Our offerings are grown from seed collected in Soto de La Marina i n Tamaulipas, Mexico. We have had these out for one winter and at 8 degrees F, the foliage burned back slightly, but all plants survived. These are often sold as Sabal x texensis, which we consider the Brazoria Co., TX selection, which suffers no dieback in Zone 7b. Show more
