Sabra Coffee Liqueur 750ML is an Israeli coffee liqueur bottled at 30% ABV (60 proof) in a 750ml format, produced by Carmel Winery. A Silver Medal winner at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), this expression stands apart as one of the few coffee liqueurs certified kosher for Passover.Quick Facts: ABV: 30% | Origin: Israel | Style: Coffee Liqueur | Producer: Carmel WineryProduction & HeritageCarmel Winery, founded in 1882 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild, is Israel's oldest and largest winery and spirits producer. Sabra Coffee Liqueur begins as a neutral grain spirit that is percolated through coffee beans — a method that extracts deep, concentrated coffee character without the bitterness that infusion-based processes can impart. Sugar is added after the percolation step, and the final product is made exclusively with kosher ingredients, earning certification as kosher for Passover. This production approach differentiates it from competitors that rely on coffee extract blending.Tasting NotesAroma: Dark roasted coffee leads immediately, followed by layers of milk chocolate, subtle vanilla, and a gentle creamy sweetness. The nose is clean and direct, dominated by genuine coffee bean aromatics rather than synthetic sweetness.Taste: The entry is bold espresso, rich and slightly bitter in the best sense. At mid-palate, cocoa and light cream emerge alongside gentle vanilla, creating a medium-bodied, well-balanced profile. A toasty coffee warmth builds through the peak without becoming cloying.Finish: Silky and lingering, with espresso echoes that persist alongside soft chocolate tones. The sweetness recedes gradually, leaving a clean roasted coffee impression that invites another sip.How to Drink Sabra Coffee LiqueurServed neat or over ice, Sabra delivers its full espresso-forward character with minimal dilution. It also works well chilled as a digestif. For cocktails, consider these three: Espresso Martini — Sabra's genuine percolated coffee backbone adds authentic roast depth alongside fresh espresso and vodka. White Russian — The milk chocolate and vanilla notes in Sabra complement cream and vodka without excessive sweetness. Coffee Old Fashioned — Paired with bourbon and a dash of orange bitters, Sabra's toasty coffee character adds a rich, layered dimension. It is medium-bodied and well-balanced, with sweetness that supports rather than overwhelms the coffee. How does Sabra Coffee Liqueur compare to Kahlúa? Sabra is also certified kosher for Passover, which Kahlúa is not.Is Sabra Coffee Liqueur good for cocktails? Its percolation-based production gives cocktails a more authentic roasted coffee taste.Where is Sabra Coffee Liqueur made? Production takes place at Carmel's facilities, where the neutral grain spirit is percolated through coffee beans. What foods pair well with Sabra Coffee Liqueur? Dark chocolate truffles complement the cocoa and espresso notes naturally. Tiramisu amplifies the coffee character for a layered dessert pairing. Its IWSC Silver Medal validates that approach on an international stage. As one of very few coffee liqueurs certified kosher for Passover, it fills a genuine gap in the market that extends beyond niche appeal into mainstream cocktail use. For anyone building an Espresso Martini or White Russian who wants coffee flavor front and center rather than buried under sweetness, Sabra delivers.
