For planting in the Fall of 2025 Shipping early to mid October!! (Crocus sativus) The saffron crocus produces the most expensive spice in the world. The labor involved in harvesting the bright red thread-like stigmas on the fall-flowering bulb is what contributes to the sky-high prices. Aside from the flavor of the stigmas, these lilac-colored flowers are a beautiful sight and can be found blooming early to mid-autumn. The contrast between the purple hue and the orange and reds of the fall foliage is stunning. The saffron crocus is a great addition to the garden for both the spice and some late-season color. When growing Saffron Crocus in the Northeast it will bloom the following season.
