Saffron oleoresin performs great in modern compositions. It combines spicy warmth with hay-like and leathery facets while maintaining blend compatibility. It shows versatility across fragrance families and maintains its signature from opening to dry down. Saffron works well with animalic accords, woody bases, and sweet orientals as both key ingredient and modifier. The material transforms compositions into multidimensional creations that project character without overwhelming neighboring notes in complex accords. Blends with Rose Taïf are masterful and, as you would expect, it is wonderful with classic Oud and Attar materials and spices. While we tend to use DPG and TEC as our main solvents for perfumery raw materials, Saffron Oleoresin benefits from dilution with PG (propylene glycol) as it blends well with Saffron's polar and aromatic mix. For that reason Biolandes uses PG (referred to as MPG in their literature) and we purchase this material pre-diluted. PG blends just as well in ethanol based scents as DPG.
