Sagittarius, Latin for “Archer” is the 9th sign of the tropical Zodiac and is in the sky typically from November 22-December 21. Like Pisces, Gemini, and Virgo, Sagittarius is a mutable sign, meaning it leads the period of time before a seasonal change. It is represented by a centaur shooting a bow and arrow. As a mutable sign, Sagittarius are adaptable, flexible, and can thrive on change. As fire signs, they are happy-go-lucky, passionate (perhaps intense). The fiery mutable sign is known for its curiosity, maybe sometimes to their detriment, but even when things don’t go their way, they’re going to keep going. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of growth and luck, inspiring Sagittarius optimistic attitude. As the planet of wisdom, it also enables the insatiable desire to learn. Sagittarius may have a tendency to be nomads - never rooted in place, always searching for more to learn, to grow, to be better than they were yesterday. Their motto is “go big or go home”, and they mean it. They don’t do anything half-heartedly (which can be great, or terrible, depending on what exactly they’re going in on). As the nomad of the Zodiac, Sags do have the reputation of being flakey and unable to commit, but as long as they don’t overpromise and are given the space to who they need to be, they can be funny, dynamic, world-changers.
