Sailor's Manyo series is based of the oldest anthology of Japanese poetry, the Manyosyu, which dates back to around 759 C.E.. Flowers play an especially large roll in much of the p oetry compiled in the Manyosyu, and this is the largest inspiration for the Manyo ink series.
