Amen.” Legend says that Saint Barbara was the beautiful daughter of a wealthy nobleman named Dioscorus, who had her shut up in a town to discourage the attention of her numerous suitors. Upon discovering that she had become a Christian, he attempted to have her killed, but she was miraculously transported out of his reach.
