The Feast of Saint Blase recognizes the martyred Bishop of Sebaste in Armenia, reputed to have miraculously saved the life of a choking young boy. It is customary to bless the thro ats of the faithful on this day to preserve them from illnesses of the throat. These candles are sold individually.
