Sciences PTFE Hose Sciences PTFE Hose refers to a high-performance flexible hose made from Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), commonly known by the brand name Teflon. PTFE hoses are widely used in scientific, chemical, pharmaceutical, and industrial applications due to their excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability, and non-stick properties. These hoses are ideal for transferring aggressive chemicals, high-purity fluids, or high-temperature gases and liquids. Specifications: Material: Inner Core: 100% Virgin PTFE for high purity and chemical resistance Reinforcement (Optional): May be braided with stainless steel, polypropylene, or fiberglass for strength and durability Operating Temperature: Typically ranges from -70°C to +260°C Chemical Resistance: Resistant to virtually all chemicals, including acids, bases, solvents, and reactive gases Size Range: Available in various inner diameters (e.g., 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", etc.) Pressure Rating: Varies by diameter and construction (braided versions handle higher pressure) Color: Typically white or translucent; may have external color-coded braiding or markings Standards Compliance: May meet FDA, USP Class VI, or ISO standards for purity and biocompatibility depending on grade Uses: Chemical Transfer: Ideal for safely transferring corrosive or reactive chemicals in labs or manufacturing environments Pharmaceutical Applications: Used for high-purity fluid transfer in drug production or compounding processes Laboratory Systems: Common in analytical instruments, vacuum systems, or setups requiring inert tubing Food and Beverage Industry: Suitable for conveying ingredients where non-contaminating, inert materials are required Gas and Air Lines: Often used for high-purity gas delivery systems including oxygen, nitrogen, or specialty gases Semiconductor Manufacturing: Used where ultra-clean fluid handling is essential to avoid contamination Features: ✅ Excellent Chemical Resistance: Handles acids, alkalis, oxidizers, and solvents without degradation ✅ Wide Temperature Range: Operates effectively from cryogenic to high-heat conditions ✅ Non-Stick Surface: PTFE has a low coefficient of friction, making it resistant to fouling and easy to clean ✅ Biocompatibility: Non-toxic and inert, suitable for pharmaceutical and food-grade applications ✅ Flexible and Durable: Flexible while maintaining structural integrity, especially when braided ✅ Corrosion-Free: Will not rust, corrode, or leach contaminants into the fluid stream ✅ Low Permeability: Provides excellent barrier properties for gases and liquids ✅ Fire Resistant: PTFE is non-flammable and self-extinguishing ✅ Smooth Bore (Optional): Ensures minimal flow resistance and prevents fluid buildup
