The Saint Michael Labradorite Ring is a band in 925 sterling silver carrying Michael the Archangel, the winged figure who appears in Western art as commander of the heavenly host, and set with a polished labradorite. He is shown with wings open and sword drawn, the pose that has identified him for centuries. The wings and the sword are cut at the same depth, so the figure reads as one silhouette, not a body with attachments. Beside it the labradorite stays gray until it is turned, when a sheet of blue crosses the stone. Michael is carried here as a cultural and artistic motif rather than as a devotional object.
