The story begins in the second century with our namesake, Sainte Foy, the French martyr whose name means faith. While her story is that of Christian origin, the concept of drawing on spirituality and faith for strength while facing adversities is one that unites women from all cultures and time periods. From this concept and, inspired by ancient markings and heirlooms, the Sainte-Foy symbol was born. A nod to the gold, intaglios and gems found on the Sainte-Foy reliquary, the ring is handcrafted from 18k gold while Smoky Quartz was intentionally selected to bear the SF Intaglio due to the gemstone’s metaphysical properties of intuition, grounding and protection. An open back allows light to cast through, bringing the stone’s aura closer to the skin, while the band texture is reminiscent of the well-worn patina of centuries-old pillars found throughout Europe’s sacred architecture. Two sparkling shoulder diamonds accent the Smoky Quartz.
