Calais lace thread - Fil Au Chinois in individual 'cocoons' Beautiful lace thread cocoons from Sajou. Perfect for crochet and embroidery. The Caudry cocoons are a polyester thread for lace-making with a fine silver lurex strand. The thread is textured and slightly puffy and crimped with the silver lurex protected by the surrounding polyester. This thread is made of 3 strands of twisted mercerised cotton (the equivalent of DMC n° 80). The presentation in small cocoons each weighing 5 grammes (approx. 110 metres) makes it simple to use: the thread is pulled from the centre, so it doesn't knot. Each cocoon is labelled. We also have these in charming boxes of assorted colours in both pastels, and bright tones. Caudry cocoons can also be used for embroidery, crochet and all kinds of craft.
