Pottery crafts which are produced in Tamba-Sasayama area, is called Tambayaki. As one of six oldest kilns in Japan, it has supported people's lives for more than 800 years. Tambayaki is an earthenware produced from a climbing kiln on the slope of a mountain and has many products that are familiar to people's daily lives, are known of its warm and earthy texture and colour. Shoyogama was founded in 1968 by the first generation, Noboru Ohgami.
