Salifert Nitrite Test Kit The Salifert Nitrite Test Kit is a sensitive aquarium test kit for measuring nitrite in marine aquariums, freshwater aquariums and garden pond water. Nitrite Testing for New Tanks and Biological Filtration Nitrite testing is important when cycling a new aquarium, monitoring quarantine systems or checking whether biological filtration is converting waste properly. The Salifert Nitrite Test Kit uses two scales to help detect both very low and moderate nitrite concentrations. Salifert Nitrite Test Kit Features Measures nitrite-nitrogen using ultra-low and medium test scales. Ultra-low scale range: 0.002 - 0.12 mg/L as nitrite-nitrogen. Medium scale range: 0.02 - 1.2 mg/L as nitrite-nitrogen. Suitable for marine water, freshwater and garden pond water. Useful for cycling aquariums, quarantine systems and filter troubleshooting. Sufficient for approximately 50 tests. Helps detect nitrite before it becomes a livestock health concern. Aquarium Use Notes Nitrite should normally remain undetectable in an established aquarium with mature biological filtration. If nitrite is present, review livestock load, filter condition, recent cleaning, new additions and overall cycling progress. Directions Follow the current instructions included with the test kit. Use clean test equipment, avoid contaminating reagents and read the colour result under good lighting. Rinse the test vial after use and store the kit dry between tests.
