Sallu-yah is an old Cherokee variety that produces cream-colored kernels that are traditionally ground for making tortillas. Plants grow 7 to 8-foot-tall producing 1 to 2 ears per plant, each measuring 6 to 7 inches long and 8 to 10 rows around. Although they originate from the same tribe, this is not the same as the variety "Cherokee Flour Corn". Comparatively, the kernels of this variety are slightly smaller and more round.
