Maybe you haven't been able to get a Shift in the past because you weren't heavy enough, yes, the weight of the skier is a factor, and that's why Salomon made the Shift 10. The Salomon Shift 10 is a great option for skiers under 140 pounds or less aggressive skiers in general. The performance of the binding is still there it just has a lower-duty spring in the toe and heel. Having 'less' spring only affects the DIN setting, power transmission is equal between Shift 10 and Shift 13. The Shift2 offers a more user-friendly experience with improved durability in the binding and a less finicky AFD adjustment on the toe. The Shift2 is the best binding for lighter-weight skiers who want a binding that is just as comfortable lapping groomers as it is skinning technical lines in the backcountry. *Not compatible with boots that DO NOT have full toe and heel lugs: i.e Atomic Backlands, Arc'teryx Procline, Dynafit Hoji, Salomon X-Alp...are a few to name.
