The Saltatrix Herring rig is a uniquely South West of WA specialised rig for designed specifically for targeting herring. With a few personalised tweaks to this classic local rig that we believe we have created a rig that will maximise your catch rate on a species that are notorious for "spitting hooks." Rig Particulars: -Tied with premium Platypus 20lb hi-test Australian clear monofilament line. -Hook trace approximately 1000mm in length -float trace approximately 300mm in length -Shogun #4 wide gape hook, green lumo tube, 2x Shogun HD crane swivels & #3 white "blob" float What could I catch using the Saltatrix Herring rig? Whilst herring are the main species you will catch using our Saltatrix herring rig, the occasional Tailor & Salmon have been caught using this rig! Our Saltatrix Herring rig goes hand in hand with a good burley regime, as Herring are extremely responsive to burley! we recommend using the rig alongside Bait Mate's pre mixed aniseed burley, a frequent hand full of the aniseed burley will have the Herring frenzied in no time, simply cast into the burley slick and at a medium pace retrieve the rig through the zone. The herring will see the lumo tube on the hook which will create a bubble trail acting as a small lure, Herring can rarely resist this offering and will be climbing over each other to engulf the rig! *Please note our Saltatrix rigs are tied by our staff in store, so there may be some small variances in lengths and components based on availability of rigging materials but substitutions will be made to optimise catch results.
