Develop a fishing settlement on the Norwegian coast at the end of the nineteenth century in Saltfjord. Across three rounds, players expand their village, improve its working fleet and build the economic network needed to turn local resources into a thriving community. On each turn, a die is drafted and used to activate the buildings in its matching row or column. Those actions can send a boat out to fish, advance along technology tracks, complete trade orders or construct new buildings, so every placement affects both the immediate turn and the options available later. Double sided player boards and variable tiles provide different special abilities and end game scoring goals from one session to the next. Saltfjord is loosely based on the dice drafting foundations of Santa Maria but develops them into a redesigned game with its own setting, building system and strategic rhythm.
