We chose Salvia Koyamae because we thought it would be fun to grow a large, shade loving non-invasive that can add a lot of texture to your garden. The plant works as a ground cove r, but also has some height to it in spring it emerges with large leaves with tooth like edges. Through summer and fall it begins to bloom with yellow salvia flowers that native pollinators enjoy. If you're looking for a plant that can grow in shade among your hostas, tiarellas and coral bells. This is a great choice for adding unique texture and lovely yellow flowers late in the season. Koyamae appreciates, rich, moist soil, and will grow in the shade of trees. It spreads slowly by creeping stems or seeds, and will naturalize an area of Woodland with beautiful textured shrub-like growth.
