Affordable Processing! The S com plus is a dual mono/stereo compressor designed to control signal levels in a variety of applications. The units logical design and layout make it simple to understand and easy to use. It offers distortion free audio with a predictable, usable range of control, whose effects range from undetectable to clearly identifiable. Each channel of the S com plus combines an expander/gate, compressor/limiter, enhancer and an adjustable de-esser with an independent LED meter. The compressor/limiter controls include threshold, ratio, attack, release and output. Or the user can switch to an auto function, which continuously analyzes the audio input and automatically adjusts the attack and release parameters based on the changing level. The de-esser improves audio quality by removing sibilance from vocals, or the "sizzle" from overly bright signal sources such as cymbals. The enhancer switch engages the EFR (Enhanced Frequency Recovery) circuit, which restores high frequencies that are sometimes diminished by heavy compression. A peak limiter with threshold control protects against clipping in the subsequent audio chain. The expander/gate features a variable threshold control and switchable (fast/slow) release time. The gate's operation is easily visible with twin LEDs. A Spectra switch on the S com plus enables a special circuit for high frequency contouring. Key input and key listen features provide for external triggering, or dynamically processing signals.
