Sanctum is a study in quiet gravity—an artwork that explores the pull of the sacred through movement, restraint, and form. At its core rests the Kaaba, rendered in deep black with a single line of gold, positioned slightly off-centre. This intentional placement creates a sense of inward motion, as textured currents sweep toward it in soft, circular rhythms—echoing the spiritual orbit of tawaf. The composition is both minimal and deeply expressive. The surrounding surface is hand-sculpted using layered plaster and textured mediums, carefully shaped into flowing, concentric movements. Each ridge carries the trace of the artist’s hand, forming a tactile field that subtly captures light and shadow. As the day shifts, the piece evolves—revealing depth, direction, and a quiet sense of motion within stillness. The restrained palette of white, black, and gold allows the concept to remain clear and uninterrupted. There is no excess—only intention. The Kaaba stands as a point of stillness, while the surrounding forms suggest the unseen forces that draw everything inward: devotion, focus, return. Encased in a sleek black aluminium frame, Sanctum holds a strong architectural presence. Its versatility allows it to be displayed both vertically or horizontally, offering flexibility without compromising its visual balance. Whether oriented upright or in landscape, the artwork maintains its quiet pull and compositional integrity. Dimension (With Frame) 51.0cm (H) * 72.0cm (W) * 3.0cm (D)
