Recycle your jewellery! 10am -5pm In this class you will learn how to make a mould by pressing an object into a cylinder of compacted sand, which is then removed before pouring molten silver into the space created. As a general template there will be time to perform a minimum of two casts each during the day. You can bring a small object which you would like to cast (no bigger than 2-3cm square) Or you can use an object from our collection. You will also be taught jewellery finishing techniques such as piercing, filing, heat treating and polishing - enabling you to walk away with two finished and wearable pieces of jewellery or polished silver objects. This class is suitable for complete beginners or those with some jewellery making experience. The class may be especially appropriate for those who would like to recycle sentimental silver or for those who wish to replicate an already existing piece of jewellery or object. The cost of the class includes up to 8g of silver and if you end up using more than that you can buy it from us at trade price. Most students don't use more than an extra £20-40 worth of silver.
