Sandalore® is a creamy and warm sandalwood aroma chemical with a stronger top note than natural sandalwood and a shorter life on the blotter. It does an excellent job of adding san talaceous volume to a scent and is particularly good in blends with other sandalwood materials. Excellent as a booster and extender for natural Sandalwood oil. Sandalore is the key sandalwood in Chanel's Égoïste (1990) by Jacques Polge (see formula below named Egotist), Guerlain's Samsara (1989) and many other truly great fragrances from the 1980s and beyond. Whilst being quite highly restricted (1.2% of the finished product) it has a wonderful ability to add a true sandalwood volume and so fairly small amounts are impactful. And at 1.2% it can be combined with other restricted materials for synergy and expanding their impact. For example Christophe Laudamiel's wonderful Amber Absolute for Tom Ford (2007) which blends 12% of Sandalore with 8% of Polysantol against a massive 28% dose of vanillin. Show more
