Sandeman Ruby Port from Douro, Portugal is a vibrant red (ruby) fortified sweet wine, crafted from a blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties including Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, and Touriga Franca. The hand-picked grapes undergo controlled fermentation with skin maceration before fortification with grape spirit, followed by a selection of wines aged between two and five years. This results in a brilliant ruby red wine offering clean, bright aromas of ripe plums and strawberries. The palate is full-bodied with rich, ripe fruit flavours, complemented by soft, juicy tannins and a beautifully balanced sweetness. It pairs wonderfully with mature cheeses or chocolate desserts.
