Marcalberto’s “SANSANNÉE” is a fragrant, fruity, intense and rich Metodo Classico sparkling (with the classic champagne-blend) made from a variable blend of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay grapes, resulting in a fine and persistent perlage. Sansannée (from the French language) reminds how this sparkling wine comes from a mélange of several harvests. A classic multi-vintage Metodo Classico sparkling, demonstrating their qualitative consistency and stylistic characteristics. Harvested in the last decade of August, both grape varieties will undergo vinification and first fermentation separately and wine ages in French old wood barrels for around 7 months, with weekly bâtonnage. Unfiltered and unclarified into the bottle for the second fermentation of about 24 months before dégorgement. The appearance shows a deep straw yellow colour with particular golden reflections. The aroma is intense with hints of brioche and vanilla. The palate is fruity, strong and balanced and it has an extraordinary freshness. Food-match: beautiful “Brut” Spumante pairing wonderfully with aperitifs, an excellent accompaniment to seafood, fish courses and white meat. Recommended serving-temperature of 7°-9°C.
