Scientific Name: SansevieriaCommon Name: Snake Plant, Mother-in-Law's Tongue Snake Plants are a very popular houseplant, especially for beginners. They are also at the top of the l ist on NASA's air purifying houseplants study! What makes the snake plant such an easy care plant is that they can survive (and sometimes even thrive) in a variety of different conditions. They don't mind low light conditions, prefer infrequent watering, and also don't mind drying out before getting watered again. That being said, they do love being in brighter light locations, so if you really want your Snake Plant to take off, they love the light! Basic Care Notes: Water when soil is completely dry. DO NOT OVERWATER. Snake Plants can tolerate being dry far more than being too wet. If you water too often, your Snake Plant will quite possibly get root rot. In most indoor environments, this means every 3-4 weeks (give or take). They prefer lots of bright, indirect light, but can tolerate lower light situations, they just might not grow very much.
