Santaleza Extra Añejo 3 Year Tequila is a premium expression from the brand, honoring the traditional tequila-making heritage of Los Altos de Jalisco. It is crafted from hand-harvested, mature Blue Weber agave, slow-cooked in masonry ovens, naturally fermented, and double-distilled in copper stills. This tequila is aged for a minimum of three years in oak barrels, resulting in a luxurious and complex spirit. Tasting Notes: Color: Rich amber with golden highlights, indicative of its time in oak. Nose: A captivating blend of baked agave, caramelized sugar, and vanilla, layered with dried fruits, toasted almonds, and a hint of cinnamon. Subtle floral and earthy undertones add to its complexity. Palate: Silky and rich, with flavors of roasted agave, butterscotch, and dark chocolate. Notes of honey, oak, and warm baking spices emerge, complemented by hints of dried apricot and orange zest. Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering oak, sweet agave, and a touch of spice. A whisper of smoke and vanilla rounds out the experience. Awards: While specific awards for the 3-year expression were not immediately prominent in the search results, the Santaleza brand and its other expressions have received recognition: Double Gold Medal at the TAG Awards in 2023 (for Blanco). Silver Medal at the TAG Awards in 2023 (for Reposado). Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) in 2023 (for Reposado). Bronze Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) in 2023 (for Blanco).
