Domaine Danjou-Banessy is run by borthers Benoit and Sebastien, who inherited the ancient vines found under the domaines holdings and who are on a mission to put their hometown of Espira de l'Agly on the wine world's map. Each of their bottlings represents "a plot, a soil, a locality, an atmosphere, a way of working, a certain atmosphere and also a part" of the family. La Truffière is a wine produced from 100% Carignan Gris farmed from 95 year old vines surrounded by a truffle field. The wines were indigenously fermented and matured in spent Burgundian barrels for 15-20 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Quite reductive at first, but with aromas and flavors which unfold over time, the wine shows white peach, apricot, nectarine, honeysuckle, and salty lemon juice. Full-bodied but with just the right amount of fresh zip. 13.0% ABV
