Chinese Tallow, or Tallowtree, is a deciduous tree whose lush heart-shaped leaves provide a spectacular autumn display in a brilliant array of almost iridescent shades of crimson, purple, red, yellow and orange. The leaves are simple and alternate, while the inconspicuous green-yellow flowers are followed by hard-shelled capsular fruits.
