Sardine Soy NO. 1, turns an everyday object into a symbol of how waste and consumption overlap. At first, these sardines look familiar. But when viewed closely, their scales reveal a hidden truth, they are made from soy sauce fish containers, asking us to look closer at what we eat and the unseen materials that shape our lives. This artwork is derived from an original charcoal drawing, digitally scanned and enhanced with colour through digital colourisation.
